Melanie almost regrets saying anything once she's taken in Newt's appearance. He looks worn out and messy -- nowhere near as bad as he'd been during the Purge, but worse than he ought to look after a celebration. She shakes her head quickly, not wanting him to fuss over her when there's clearly something bigger going on. "I don't feel sick," she assures him. Granted, she doesn't really know what 'sick' feels like. 'Hungry' is the nearest she's ever got to it, and she doesn't feel hungry.
That's all that really matters, at least for now.
